New to the Academy!!!!!! Fresh meat!!!!! LOL

Well, My Name is Catherine, but you can call me Cat. I am 20 years old. I have to admit that I love Vampire books. On how I got into Vampire Academy is that, I was reading the twilight books again and I was getting tired of reading them. I read the series all the way through maybe three times. And I was at my local Wal-Mart, in a hurry to get home to cook dinner. (I was already thinking about getting new books but did not have the extra money to buy any hence reading the twilight books over and over) Waiting in line to check out I saw the first book and grabbed it. I did not even read the back of the book to see what I was. I started reading it the next morning when I woke at 430 (when my boyfriend needed to get up at get ready for work. ) And I fell inlove with the book in one heart beat. I had in finished in maybe two days. I was dieing for the next book but I had to wait a little over a week for the second book read that one just about fast. Then read the third book. I have not read any of the rest yet. I so cannot wait until this Friday when I can buy it. My Boyfriend does not understand why I read the books so fast. Loll went to the book's web site and read the preview of the third and fourth book. The books are like a drug to me I need the next book like need my next fix of a drug. (And no, I have never done drugs in my life) I would love to get to know everyone here. If you do not mind answering, a few questions would be really nice. Oh and by the way, I love the Vampire Academy books way better than The Twilight books.

Hello Cat! Welcome to Shadow Bite! I'm Tasha. And my hubby feels the same way about my reading. Its funny, with series I power read through the book and can read the book in a day ( or two or three if i'm actually involved in life lol). But with novels or adult books, it takes me a week or so to read a book. He just doesn't get it. I think it's a men thing lol.

I found out of Va not this previous summer, but the summer before that. It was an accident actually. The best accident ever. I was downloading e books and I thought I downloaded vampire diaries. I heard they were being turned into a tv series ( which it was), and so i wanted to read the books first. But, i accidentally downloaded VA. I fell in love right away and read all the books that were out back to back....and then again. A few months later i found Shadow Bite and now this site is a second home to me. I love all the members here.

And, since u haven't read the whole series yet, be careful browsing around the site. We try to use spoiler tags and keep things spoiler free but things slip and it happens.

I started reading the series early 2008, I was looking for more vampire books in 2007 and found VA online but unfortunately it wasn't in stores here in Australia, so I had to wait for it to arrive a few months later...and then wait extra months for Frostbite and Shadow Kiss, so you're lucky the first 5 books are already out and there's less waiting between books for the next fix (following your drug analogy ) They're definitely addictive, but I like it's ok to be addicted to books, they're harmless unless they give you papercuts

I found out about the books, in a pretty weird way. A friend of mine, who is obsessed with Twilight, asked me to download for her VA from internet. I couldn't find it anywhere, so I downloaded Vampire Diaries instead. But, no, she wanted to read VA. So I wanted to find out what's so special about this book, so I went to buy it, instead of trying to download it. I read it, and I became obsessed as well...

I don't think it's so weird to be so obsessed with the book. I've seen weirder obsessions... xD

Yeah, they will turn Dimitri into dhamir again...

Thank You so so much. You guys are so very welcoming. I am glad that I am not the only one crazy about the book. Maybe it is a guy thing. If I wasn’t taking care of my three year old daughter I would have had read the each book in a day. I do like twilight and vampire dairies but with out a dought Vampire Academy is so much better.
And I don’t mind getting details about the books I haven't read yet. It's like a little fix till I’m able to get the next book.

Hello Cat and Welcome! I'm Wilda. I first found out about the books by browsing on barnesandnoble.com My cousi had the first book and I borrowed it and feel in love with it. I immediately got the books from the library and bought them as soon as I had the money. I've read them 4 times so far. And my husband is the exact same way. In fact I try not to read when he is home cause he complains. Good thing I'm a stay at home mom at the moment or else I'd never get to read lol. Which would drive me crazy. Reading keeps me sane. It's my obsession and VA is at the top of that obsession. I also like Twilight. I read it after seeing the movie and then discovered a whole new world. But I love VA so much more than Twilight. Like Tasha Shadow Bite is my second home. We're all like a family here so come on in and make yourself right at home

NIce to meet you Wilda. I to am a stay at home mom. It really does feel like a family here. I started to red Vampire Acadmy, until i get blood promise, over this morning and i feel it's very relaxing.
