| Here are three kittens that I have been nursing. They were dumped at just four weeks old!! Because not weaned and really young (immature immune systems) they became really, really, really, really sick. I honestly thought I was going to loose two of them. They are still sick, but so much better! They finally had enough energy to start playing today so I took some pictures. I already have a lot of pets.. but after nursing them back from a very scary place (still going - you'd never guess how bony they are under all that kitten fur, poor luvs) I've decided to keep all of them.. the rest of my family doesn't know yet. *grin* Let me introduce my five-week-olds; Strigoi (female), Moroi (male) and Dhampir (male)..... They fit their names very well. One is a real fighter (Strigoi) who had the best attitude from the beginning to pull through this. The other was medium sick and still a fighter, but a lover too (Dhampir) and then there is my purr-boy/luv bug (Moroi) who purrs at the slightest affection (and am still keeping the closest eye on). I've been singing to them and they sing back, its adorable. Course they could just be complaining about my voice, lol. Yeah... I'm in love. Thank goodness for these stories to find me just a couple weeks ago, it made naming these guys smooth sailing! They are why my new appearance here became a disappearance this past week, I hope to be here more as they grow and need less care - freeing up more of my free time. | |

| OMG they are adorable! Lovin the names too I've nursed a bunch of kittens before. It can be a hard journey specially if they don't make it. I had a set where the mama cat left them under my porch and I waited and she never came back so I took them and nursed them. I had them abou 3 weeks which made them about 4 or 5 weeks old and they started slowly dieing one by one. it practically killed me. I get super attached real easily. but they were in worse shape than yours appear to be. They look pretty healthy. SO GL with your new babies. Keep us updated on them | |

I am going to start a post so everyone can show us their animals. I like to see people's pets. It makes me happy to see happy animals. (I'm a nature freak...)

| You've done a really good job with them then, if they're able to play around Well done. They're adorable and it's awesome that you've named them because of VA. | |

They're adorable and it's awesome that you've named them because of VA. Agreed... Wilda85- I am sorry that your babies died... (I consider pets to be like kids- they seem to agree with me...)

| yes pets are like kids to me too. I had a cat for 11 yrs and he passed away a few weeks after I had my son in July 2008. It tore me apart and still gets to me I haven't had any animals since. I get attached so quickly but we're starting to look into getting a puppy and possibly a kitten. I love animals and I think I'm ready to add a few new furry family members | |

| The last time I had a cat I was 12. Well, she passed away when I was 12. We haven't had a cat or other pet since. I would love to get another cat. I would so love to adopt from a shelter. Since I don't have a pet, I will post a picture from I Can Has Cheezburger. | |

| Thanks guys. Sorry for the really late reply. They all came through okay (thank goodness!) and here is an updated picture or two I've been sending to all my friends. My female shepherd thinks she's 'mum'. And Moroi likes to kiss... Wilda85 , I'm sorry about your loosing all of those kittens you tried so hard to save. I've been there before with baby hampsters and fancy rats. You try your best but it's still not good enough, it rips you up. I like you get really attached too. Sounds like you did the best you could for them, poor luvs. I'm sorry about your cat too. I lost my three childhood pets (two cats and a dog all 15 yrs old) all in 8 months of each other back in 2000, life came to a complete stop in our home and never returned to the way it was before. That was so hard. Good luck on your puppy/kitten search, I like to think when we are ready they find us. - SecretMagic wrote:

Shows how good Richelle really is as an author, to base a story in fact (even if the fact is still just folklore) makes for that much better of a story when you can research something that goes far back in history. She's brilliant!
