Well, as I see it, they have no choice but to let him audition. And if they don't pick him, or if, horror of all horrors, he would turn the offer down... I don't know how I'll get through...
But really, I dont know how they could actually NOT give him the part? He's got the looks, almost the height and he sure can act. As for the muscles, send him to the gym, if necessary Smile

Then they can also have costumes department work magic with the clothes to further enhance the impression of being strong and athletic.
If they don't give the role to Ben, I'm not sure I want to watch...Well, I probably will after all, but it would lose some of its magic, its pull, at least to me it would.

I had Caspian visiting my dreams last night, lol! Somehow there was this completely different ending to the Dawn Treader.

That would be my only concern ^ he's quite skinny... but like you say, he can always hit the gym to bulk up.

Dont forget, we want someone who can play all 6 movies (well, I do anyway). The age thing will be an issue... it takes a good year to make a movie and he might be going on 37 by the time the last ones ready to come out! Razz

... I know it sounds like I'm exaggerating but if you think about it, they're not even close to making the first one yet!

I would be interested to see A) if Ben was given the opportunity to audtion, B) if he'd take it and C) what Richelle thought about him.
But, as of yet, I'm not getting my hopes up for anyone. I'm sure whoever they pick, known or unknown actor, they'll be right for the part!

They'll have to cast Rose first though and I guess she'll have a lot of influence over who gets the role of dimitri... the chemistry between them two will be very important!!

I do think he has the potential to make a good dimitri... but we shall have to seee!

Of course I know you don't mean to play Ben down Wink

But I'm also aware of the age-thing. Fortunately Ben looks much younger than his age and I kind of did some rudimentary mathematics; he must have been about 24 or 25 when shooting the first Caspian/Narnia film? I don't remember exactly, but Caspian was supposed to be a teenager in that first film and I think Ben pulled that off quite well.

We don't know for sure yet if or when they will make that VA movie. We don't even know if they plan on doing more than one film (it depends on the success I guess) or how many films they'll make. Perhaps they plan to squeeze things into lesser films than there are books? Or shoot two films at the same time, like they sometimes do?

A lot of speculation here... Well, if they don't get Ben for Dimitri, I hope they'll get someone completely unknown. Someone not associated with anything else. Hm... not an easy task.
Oh, I just thought of something. Wouldn't it be great to be on the casting team?! Just imagine, having a lot of good looking actors auditioning for the part... Like a drool party or something, lol!

Lol if i was on the set i would pass out my number to the hot guys lol

Ben Barnes could pass for 24 to 25...unless he suddenly ages in the next 2 years or so o.O

He sure could! Unless, as you say, he suddenly ages. Sometimes that happens, especially with men; they retain that kind of "boyish" look for a long time, then suddenly their features change and become more defined and they lose that boyish quality to their look. Let's hope Ben doesn't, not for a while anyway Wink
