I don't think we need to worry about him being too old to play Dimitri. He looks younger than his age and somehow, I imagine Dimitri does not look younger than his age. I mean, being the serious type, always the responsible one, he really acts like an adult and probably looks it too.

Not many teenage characters on film are being portrayed by teenage actors. They all seem to be a couple of years older.
