| It hurt to vote "none of the above". I consider my fav series at this time VA but fav series ever....i have to wait for VA to be over then decide to give it that title.
Right now my fav series ever is The daughters of the moon series.I own ever single book (13)- and the spin off but interconnected series Sons of The Dark series(4 books). I followed it from the beginning 2000 til it ended 2007. Its a YA series. I'm actually trying to write a book review for it but i dont know how to approach it. I keep scrapping what i write cause it sounds corny.

You can vote none of the above like i did Tony! I plan to consider that, but first, let me add that there's technically room for one last option, left, and i'd rather it be for P.J.O to be that last option, and if not that series, go for Cirque Du Freak!

| Even though it was Twilight that brought me to VA and in turn to RM's works...I have to say that my favourite ever is Georgina Kincaid. I LOVE Georgina! I identify with her the best, and I just love her friends, too. Even though the series isn't finished, I do love it the best. I will be really sad when the series finishes. | |

| I can't vote, I'm sorry..there are too many of my faves on that list. Harry Potter, VA, Twilight, Mortal Instruments...as well as things that aren't there: A whole bunch of book series by Tamora Pierce, Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr, Modern Faerie Tale series by Holly Black.
I've never been good at limiting myself to an absolute favourite in anything (movie, colours, music, books)...it's too hard pick just one.

| Then go for the 4 trilogies of Cirque Du Freak:The Saga Of Darren Shan, if you are looking for Vamp-induced Literature, in that case!
Cirque Du Freak has the blood and guts you'd come to expect from Good Vamp-induced Literature, and then some, along with Rules that only get bent, for that matter, plus a Blood-War that i was pretty sure Mead borrowed the concepts from, when Vampire Academy was published.Trust me, another thing i noticed, is that the series took a long time, just to set up a proper lead main villian[Mead may have borrowed from that or it was on accident or chance, as well!]they do have positive morals, as well, but they were earned instead of feeling heavy-handed, when they were realized, so you don't need to worry about over-preachiness, right there!
Although, i do have to admit Vampire Academy earns extra kudos for setting up Villian Groups, including the Strigoi, right there...too bad that we don't know who's the lead main villian(s), yet!
The next series i would ask you to consider, is the Percy Jackson And The Olympians novels, by Rick Riordan, as not only did the series managed to set up the lead main villians, but even the threatening groups were actually set up even quicker than the Death-Eaters or the Vampaneze, combined! Not to mention the series has limitless Paradoxes and Dillemas, from the Dillemas in kombat and how much power is required, to the Dillemas of the heart in the later 3 novels of the main story, plus the tie-in novel between the 4th and 5th novels, the Demigod Files, which helps set the stage for The Last Olympian, itself[and with less pages than O.O.T.P + H.B.P, i might add!^_^]
Believe it or not, these novels could have enough of what you are looking for, though it's best to persevere until their respective 3rd novels, though!

Cirque Du Freak has romance and started including it since the 3rd novel in the series, at the end of the 1st trilogy for the series, and P.J.O began to hint Romance at the 3rd novel and outrightly had them in the later novels!

Ditto! I know of a few great ones, but they're not for children. For YA reading, Vampire Diaries is pretty good. There is a 'taste' of romance, but not inappropriate. The Night World collections are also romance-like and are clean.

I've got a couple to recommend!! I've read all of these and they're all pretty good. Most of them are paranormal teen reads and none are about vampires. But they all have some romance. ^^ - The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (best series EVER!!! After Vampire Academy of course) ;) Twenty-four are forced to enter. Only the winner survives. In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. Each year, the districts are forced by the Capitol to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the Hunger Games, a brutal and terrifying fight to the death - televised for all of Panem to see. Survival is second nature for sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who struggles to feed her mother and younger sister by secretly hunting and gathering beyond the fences of District 12. When Katniss steps in to take the place of her sister in the Hunger Games, she knows it may be her death sentence. If she is to survive, she must weigh survival against humanity and life against love. WINNING WILL MAKE YOU FAMOUS. LOSING MEANS CERTAIN DEATH. Click here- Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick Romance was not part of Nora Grey's plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how hard her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch comes along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Patch draws Nora to him against her better judgment. But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is and seems to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel. For she is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those who have fallen -- and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost Nora her life. Click here- Demon Princess Reign or Shine by Michelle Rowen For Nikki Donovan, being a teenager can be hell. Literally. Nikki didn't think her life could get any more complicated after she moved to the dreary town of Erin Heights - fitting in at a new school while navigating the social scene was stressful enough. But when her sixteenth birthday rolls around, she's visited by a mysterious stranger, Michael, who tells her that her long-lost father is actually the demon king of the Shadowlands - the dimension that protects our world from the Underworld and Hell. Maybe it's because she's in shock, or maybe it's because Michael is seriously cute, but Nikki follows him into the Shadowlands. There she learns about her half-demon powers, about the potential war between the Shadowlands and the Underworld, and that her father wants her to assume the throne - forever. Not to mention that her growing crush on Michael is completely forbidden. . . Ruling a kingdom, navigating a secret crush, and still making it home by curfew - what's a teenage demon princess to do? Click here- Lament by Maggie Stiefvater Sixteen-year-old Deirdre Monaghan is a painfully shy but prodigiously gifted musician. She's about to find out she's also a cloverhand—one who can see faeries. When a mysterious boy enters her ordinary suburban life, seemingly out of nowhere, Deirdre finds herself infatuated. Trouble is, the enigmatic and conflicted Luke turns out to be a gallowglass—a soulless faerie assassin—and Deirdre is meant to be his next mark. Deirdre has to decide if Luke's feelings towards her are real, or only a way to lure her deeper into the world of Faerie. Click here- Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human... until the cold makes him shift back again. Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human—or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever. Click here- Generation Dead by Daniel Waters Phoebe is just your typical goth girl with a crush. He's strong and silent. . . and dead. All over the country, a strange phenomenon is happening. Some teenagers who die aren't staying dead. They are coming back to life, but they are no longer the same-they stutter, and their reactions to everything are slower. Termed "living impaired" or "differently biotic," they are doing their best to fit into a society that doesn't want them. Fitting in is hard enough when you don't have the look or attitude, but when almost everyone else is alive and you're not, it's close to impossible. The kids at Oakvale High don't want to take classes or eat in the cafeteria next to someone who isn't breathing. And there are no laws that exist to protect the differently biotic from the people who want them to disappear-for good. With her pale skin and Goth wardrobe, Phoebe has never run with the popular crowd. But no one can believe it when she falls for Tommy Williams, the leader of the dead kids. Not her best friend, Margi, whose fear of the differently biotic is deeply rooted in guilt over the past. And especially not her neighbor, Adam, the star of the football team. Adam has just realized his feelings for Phoebe run much deeper than just friendship. He would do anything for her, but what if protecting Tommy is the one thing that would make her happy? Click here
