It's okay. The premise is interesting, but there's no real resolution to the problem. That bugged me a lot, because I like solutions in my books.
It's centered around a girl living in a small religious community fenced in to keep zombies (the 'Unconsecrated') out. The world has succumbed to a plague that turns people into undead zombies, and the metal fences surrounding the community are the only things keeping the small agrarian community alive. (Spoiler for middle of the book) When the fences are breached in the middle of the book, the girl and her family along with the two guys who are competing for her affections get into a fenced-in path leading away from the village and into the unknown. (END Spoiler)
Themes include the meaning of freedom, individual versus community, what life is really about, and escape into the unknown.
So yeah, it was okay-good. I would get it from the library, though, unless you really like dark-themed books with slightly unsatisfying, life-like endings.
