| Has anyone here read the book/series by Daniel Waters?
I just finished the first of two books. I enjoyed it, I thought the writing was pretty clever. The story is about a school/community where teenagers have been coming back from the dead. In other words they are zombies. The story revolves around people's perceptions and prejudices. I thought the read was a lot of fun. I'm looking into getting the second book.

| I just picked it up the other day!! Pretty randomly too since I was on this book buying frenzy. I don't know anything about it though but since I bought it I'm going to read it. I love zombies but I've never read any zombie books. How did you like it? | |

| I have since read the second book in the series called "Generation Dead - Kiss of Life". I LOVED them! The books are really cute. They do make you feel emotions of anger and sadness. You just have to give your head a shake and ask, "Well what's the problem? So what? They're just zombies."
I highly recommend this series. I can't wait for the third book!

| Yeah, don't judge these books by their covers. You'll see. They're fun. | |

| Okay, I just finished reading it. Like, I literally just put the book down. Why I ask!!! Just... WHY?!?!?!- Spoiler:
I LOVED Adam!! I really hate what happened to him!! Why did he have to die?! Adam won't be the same anymore!! And he was such a good character too. He was probably the most realistic character I've ever seen in a book. I loved everything about him. He was big and sweet and strong and brave... This kills me so hard!! It's Dimitri all over again!!!
Is the second in the series worth it? Or will it just break my heart more?

| IMO the next book IS worth it. - Spoiler:
Remember, Adam's not gone forever. He's just "differently biotic" now. The beginning will be a little rough, but it gets better. I hope Mr. Waters hurries up with the next book. He leaves us hanging at the end of the second book.

| I'll have to see about getting it. Though Kiss of Life is only out in hardcover and I have the paperback to GenDead and they won't match. So now I need to get rid of my copy of GenDead or sell it or something so that I can get the hardcover GenDead!! The guy on the Kiss of Life cover is hot. *wants* | |

| I'm not that fussy about books not matching. I bought Gen Dead in paperback because I thought, "What if I don't like it? Then I didn't make the big investment in a hardcover". But I ended up really liking it and couldn't wait for a paperback Kiss of Life. And if I were 10-15 years younger, I would definitely be after that guy on the KOL cover. | |

| Ballroom, i 'm on the same page as you. I tend to buy paperback just because they are cheaper. But, i do prefer hard covers . I travel with my books and read in between classes and my books get thrown around in the chaos of my day- they really take a beating. If money permits then i'll just buy the hardcover.
I dont really care if my series match as long as i have a hard copy of the books then i'm happy. As long as i can pick up a book and read it - it doesnt really matter.
I wish though, i had the money to buy two of every book- collectors edition to leave nice and pristine on my shelf and a copy to batter and abuse and re-read and lend to others u know.

| I totally get what you're saying. I also prefer the hard-covers because they don't get as easily ruined in transport. I like to read on the subway to and from work. Paper-backs are lighter and smaller so they fit better into a little bag, but they also are more prone to getting bent and even *gasp!* *wince!* torn!
When the time comes for the third book, I will likely pre-order it so I can get it on the first day!

| I'm pretty anal about my books. I arrange them according to size, I like the series books to match, and I don't normally lend them out to ANYONE. When I do, it's only because they've sworn to pay me back with their life should anything happen to my book whilst in their care. I hate it when my sister leaves my precious books on the floor. I hate it when books get dents on the covers. And I really hate it when people dog-ear the pages!! Stop molesting books!!! Anyway, I've gotten the hardcovers of GenDead and KoL. Now I'm just waiting for them to come to me.... *grabby hands* Only problem with ordering stuff online is waiting for it to arrive. BTW I had a question about Adam. What does he look like? I mean... he's a football player, big, tall and cut. But I don't remember reading anything about hair or eye color...? For now I'm sort of going with the hot guy on the cover of KoL. | |

My books take a beating sometimes but dog-ear pages is one thing i can't stand. I hate it with a passion. Even seeing other people do it makes me cringe. I guess thats one of the those little weird quirks or pet peeves we all have.

| Oh absolutely NO bending of pages! I get cheezed when my books end up in strange positions in my bag and then I will see the pages starting to bend. Yikes! I will then try to 'bend' it the other way...and they've survived. After then, I will put the 'injured' book between two heavier books for a spell to press it out. I also have not lent any of my books to anyone. I will happily recommend, or even give the gift of a book, but my own books are sacred.
Waiting for stuff to be delivered is always painful. LOL! I'm all about the instant gratification. But sometimes it is necessary to order. Like if the local store doesn't have any copies, or if you can get a good deal by ordering online.
I would think the guy on the cover of KOL is a good representation of Adam. And if I had to guess, the girl on the cover of GenDead is Karen DeSonne. However, IF the guy on KoL *is* Adam, then it's a bit misleading. (I won't say more because I don't want to spoil) I wonder, too, if the girl in the casket on the cover of KoL is Phoebe. She sure looks like the description. Again, misleading.
