Competitions and Polls

I don't mind feeling cold when I'm prepared for it (ie. Snow weather). But it was warm here yesterday (like 20°C which is pretty good in winter...about 68°F) and now it's cold...not cool!

He was doing so well before! I feel like we've failed him or something...haha. At least we've been watching his progress all day, that's got to count for something.

It sometimes gets to a little below freezing here, though it's normally about 50°F (10°C). I don't really have a proper jacket for that kind of weather, so I'm always cold. lol But I don't really have to worry about that for a few more months.

It hasn't rained here in over a month. I'm not really missing the rain, but our lawn sure is.

yeah, I never quite figured that one out either. I'd say it probably isn't possible, but I can't be 100% certain.

Man, there's like no voting going on over there now. It's been like... 10-15 minutes? And I've seen one vote in that time. Somehow, I just dun think Dimitri will pull through again. *fails at optimism*

I'm trying to think positively, but I'm failing too. If the gap had been just that tiny bit smaller I might be a bit more optimistic, but it doesn't help when it's over 40 votes.

We only have 44 min left.

On one of my email groups there was someone who didn't even know who Dimitri was! Can you imagine? How can anyone not know the superior badassosity that is Dimitri Belikov? I had to enlighten them.

I don't know Carter...but if there's no-one else on a list that I like I'll definitely vote for anything RM-ish.

EDIT: I'm confused now. I think the voting must have been left open after the finishing time, because if you go to BBB it says Dimitri won

lol You'll know Carter as soon as you read Succubus Blues!! He's one of my top favorites of all of RM's characters. He first appears in the 3rd chapter of the book. I think you'll love him.

Edit: Yeah, it seems that way. But I'm very certain that the poll officially ended last night. People just didn't realize I guess, and for some dumb reason, they're still allowed to vote. I think BBB should really fix that to eliminate any confusion cause people are sorta stupid these days. lol

I'll probably end up giving you chapter updates as a go along. It'll be nice knowing there are people here I can talk to as I discover stuff so I wont be spending heaps of time searching for someone to discuss the book with for weeks.

It'll be cool to have people to chat with about the series as you're reading it. I wish I had a forum or something to come to when I was reading it a couple months ago. No doubt I would have been squeeing over Carter the entire time. lol

Btw, we should start a Dark Swan thread too for those of us that are reading that series. Can't wait for Thorn Queen to come out.

I dunno if I would say Carter or Roman are the best. I like basically all of Georgie's immortal friends. They all have something fun and special about them. Hugh, Peter, Cody, even Tawny and Jerome. I just love when they are all together either at Georgina's house/apt, or Peter and Cody's place, or out at that bar they frequent. Having them all in the same room is usually hilarious.

I had to seek out a place when I finished the books. I joined up at an RM email group on Yahoo. RM herself even posts from time to time! They talk about all her books there. I still haven't read the Thorn Queen stuff...but I'll get around to it. I'm glad that a thread was started here for Succubus series.

I just finished the last book an hour ago. I could not stop reading them, I have never read four books in in such short amount of time. I usually read one in a bout a week if it's interesting. I thought it was funny about the five page a day rule that georgina had. I could never adhere to that especially while reading that series. The character development was amazing. I agree I loved all the characters well except D***e I'm still sort of pissed about that, it's still a fresh wound. We should start a thread, I don't want to give things away for those who are just starting the series. I have soo much to say the books though, it's awesome having people to talk to about it. I do agree about Carter he cracks me up. They all do but something about him and his preferred appearance. I am curious how things will progress for Roman's character....(I'm really trying not to say too much). Also the diamond ring? Come on Seth, why settle for a diamond when you can have a ruby??? (clearing my throat) So what do you guys think of the new cat and Nyx's dream? Also about the contract, there's gotta be something right? Well we're going to need a few threads.

Jill, we actually DO have a Succubus thread in the Literature section. PLEASE PLEASE come there and let's talk! I agree with you about "D***e" LOL! The ruby vs diamond thing we totally have to discuss! Come to that thread! I had some ideas. And with regards to Seth, I have a love/hate relationship with him. Times where I want to kiss him, times where I want to kick him in the nads.

Roman? I'm still not sure. And I'm not gonna say anything here because the thread we have in the literature section has a spoiler warning, at least I think. Plus we can use the [ spoiler ] tags.

So there's no new poll on bbb this week, I thought maybe a late start but they skipped it this week. oh well, I'll keep an eye out for any that apply to us in the future.

Damn it no polls this week either. We should make up our own poll boards here, but then they might be a little biased. I do think that jace from the mortal instruments is pretty hot. I'm reading well doing the audio version of those books at the moment. It's great for my workout.
