| I like the Host and I think it's certainly Meyer's best work so far. It was quite confusing at the beginning, even boring sometimes, but it's good later on. I was just a bit annoyed with the ending - Meyer's perfect happily-ever-after for everyone, like always. The sequel should be out this fall, I believe. | |

Can Meyer still be redeemed, yet?

Meyer is an enthusiastic amateur and while I respect her enthusiasm, she has a lot to learn. The Host is a proof that she is indeed growing as a writer.

| At least it means that the writing may stop tasting like downe-syndrome inducted feces, eventually, right? | |

I think part of Meyer's problem is she doesn't have enough action in her books. The biggest probem with The Host and the Twilight Saga is there is far more narration than actual action. I don't think Meyer quite understands yet that the characters' personal thoughts are not enough to keep a story moving.

| It's been a while since I read it, but I wasn't exactly amazed by the book. It's weird, and it reminds me so much of the "Uglies", another book series, if you don't know it. I don't like stephenie meyer so much... | |

I never thought Meyer was a god writer, but what she did with The Host was pretty good in my opinion. I wonder what's the sequel going to be about.

| Yeah, I want to read the sequel, I want to see what else she can write, or if it is better than the host? Do you know the title of the next book?? | |

| I thought it was supposed to come out this fall, but it seems like it's not going to happen. I really hope it won't take too long. | |

| I love this book <3 The Host was really exciting, and man... just by reading this post makes me want to reread it again. It was pretty cool of Steph to break away from the Vampires and werewolves... I mean, Aliens... those are still "out there" but hey, it's exciting. It was a good story. Wanda was such a sweet character and Mel too. At first, I was iffy with Mel but I did start to see her point. It must have been a horrible prision for her =\ But I was so glad that it worked out for the both of them... that Wanda got her own body and Mel got hers back! I remember when I first read it, and it was at Wanda's "goodbye" part, I was crying. Poor Ian Yes... by the way... Team O'Shea | |
